Clementine Sarah Shawbell - Delbridge (b. 1862 d.1930), youngest daughter of Maria Ann EVANS (b.1820 d.1900) and John G. SHAWBELL b.1820 d.1903.

Mother's great-great grandfather, Evan EVANS came from Wales in 1722, landed at Philadelphia Nov.17th, settled in Chester Co., he had nine children. His sixth son Thomas was Mothers greatgrandfather, he had six children and his third son Jesse was Mothers grandfather. Jesse had six sons and one daughter, Lydia. The sons names were, Thomas,Lewis,Jesse,William,Ezkiel and Evan. Evan is Mothers father, was born in 1795.

Thomas, a Quaker, was not in military service during the American Revolution, but served as Uwchlan Township representative on a Committee of Safety and inventoried supplies.

Taxes 1767: Fermanagh Township, Mifflin (Juniata) County, PA Thomas EVANS-100 acres, 6 acres cleared land, 2 horses, 1 cow. Census: 1800 Living in Uwchlan Township with wife and one non-white non-slave.

In 1823, John Godfrey Evans married Eleanor Musgrave, the daughter of Robert Musgrave and Elizabeth Johnston of Chester Co., Pa. About two years later John Godfrey led a party of about 30 people to Monroe County, Kentucky where he died in 1838. His descendants have lived in Monroe County since that time.

Thomas, Clarissa and family moved to Fincastle, Botetourt County, Va. where Thomas was the manager of a plantation owned by Col. John Taylor. In about 1810, Thomas moved the family to Carter County, Tennessee where he died in about 1821.
